Jennifer Kannarr is a Northwest native and graduate from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Her paintings reflect life in the northwest and surrounding areas.
Jennifer works in oil to depict people in both private and social situations, exploring body language, colors, distortions and the environmental mood. Her vivid and graceful paintings exhibit a deep appreciation for natural beauty that stems from everyday life.
“My paintings are a result of experimentation with color partnerships and figure relationships. I believe that color can provoke emotion and I have found that red harbors the most sensitivity. It awakens sensations that include anger, love, passion, mystery, tension and drama."
"The figure is a primary element in most of my work. I am a true believer in the natural beauty of the human form. The figure is always changing, no two are alike, and it is forever a challenging and promising subject matter.”
